National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman has reportedly signed to IMG Models, one of the biggest modeling agencies in the world.
Gorman, 22, captivated audiences around the world with her recital of her poem “The Hill We Climb” during the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She was the youngest person in the nation's history to recite a poem at a presidential inauguration.
During her powerful performance, there were plenty who gushed over Gorman’s beauty and bright fashion sense. Gorman sported a yellow, double-breasted Prada coat during the ceremony. She paired it with a red Prada headband, and sparkly red face mask. Her fashion sense definitely stood out on the Capitol steps. She even wore a ring she received as a gift from Oprah Winfrey, a caged bird in honor of the late poet Dr. Maya Angelou.
The Harvard grad is already in a deal with WME, a brand of IMG, for public speaking. She also has a publishing deal with Penguin Random House. Her two books, The Hill We Climb and Change Sings are already surging in pre-order sales, even though they aren’t set to be released until September.
The modeling deal with IMG will give Amanda representation in the fashion and beauty arenas, helping her secure brand deals, and more.
It’s easy to tell that Amanda Gorman is a rising star that’s plenty bright already. And we're excited to see where she goes next!
